What will I need during my stay?

We recommend that you bring some personal things which will increase your comfort during your stay.

  • A torch, with spare batteries (pack this in your hand luggage in case you arrive in the dark)

  • Your personal swimming/beach towel Towels will provided by Yuva if requested

  • Insect repellent: Citronella from a chemist is a natural one, or try your local health-food

shop.  Stop Pic and Walkabout are also good natural brands.  If you are very sensitive to insect bites, then you may wish to take an extra strong repellent (jungle formula), from your local pharmacy.

  • Good, well worn-in WALKING BOOTS (ideal, and essential for walking holidays). Or comfortable trainers with good gripping soles (the paths around the centre are uneven, mountainous, rocky, rough, steep and can be slippery).

  • A Small day back pack

  • A few clothes pegs

  • Tampons, if required

  • A hat

  • Light, loose, comfortable clothes for yoga.

  • Long trousers and socks for the evenings can help guard against insects

  • A long sleeve shirt or top, for the same reason

  • Warm clothes for the evenings in April and October

  • Sun Screen

  • Sunglasses

  • Suitable beach shoes, or aqua shoes that fit tightly (these can be useful if you wish to swim from the rocky coves).  Can be bought in Ölüdeniz or Fethiye, or off the internet, before you go.

  • A European electrical adaptor

  • Mobile phone charger

  • At night, Faralya has wonderful dark skies. The most useful thing I have found is a gardensolar light, to place near your room. These can be obtained from Homebase, gardencentres etc., for as low as £3.99. You may wish to leave this at Yuva when you depart.

  • Car and bike hire are available.  Sometimes people like to club together and rent a car for a day or two.  If you are a very competent driver, you may wish to bring your driving licence.

Is the water safe to drink?

For safety we do not recommend drinking water from the tap. The Water is coming from mountains and it is natural. There is no problem to use it for washing your teeth or to take shower.

The fee for drinking water is included in the price. First Water bottle will be provided free of charge and you may fill it up from our water cooler near the kitchen anytime.
